Homemade glutinous rice cake

  • glutinous rice flour

Cooking Steps

First, soak and boil red beans for a day or at least 8 hours.

Pour water into red beans and pour out the first water that has been boiled. It not only removes the bitter and arin taste of red beans, but it also hurts your stomach if you drink the wrong first water. Add 8 to 10 times more water to the red beans and boil them for about an hour. Cook one red bean until it crumbles gently.

You can strain the boiled red beans through a strainer, but I like to chew the red beans, so I steamed them. I used half a cup of sugar per cup of red beans, but if you don't like sweet things, please adjust it moderately. And a little bit of salt, please.

Add hot water to the glutinous rice flour little by little to form a lump.

When a large lump is formed in the middle, cut it little by little with a knife and prepare it by hand.

When the hot water boils, add the prepared rice cake and wait until it rises. Don't try to stick in the middle or stir it with your chopsticks. If you wait, the rice cakes will float on their own.

I put the rice cakes in a strainer, drained them, and put them in a bowl. Add sugar and salt little by little and season here. And steam well so that the lumps mix well.

Put rice cake on the place where there is enough starch and spread it well.
